The Sticky Kids have a favourite book on all their bedroom shelves
It’s full of Sticky stories and it’s all about themselves
There is a story in this book that takes place on a farm
It happened in the holidays when days were long and warm

The Sticky Kids all caught a bus to take them out of town
The horn on the bus went “toot, toot, toot” and the wheels went round and round
Past the woods and up the hill the bus chugged on its way
The scent of flowers was in the air, the
smell of new-mown hay

They climbed off the bus by a field of corn and up the lane they trotted
“There’s a rabbit” Fergus cried, its snowy tail he’d spotted
Nicky heard a familiar noise, they all stood quiet, listening
It was Old MacDonald by his shed, they recognised his whistling

“Hi, Old Mac” the kids all cried, they rushed towards the shed
Old MacDonald turned around, “Good day to you, kids” he said
“I’m glad to see you Sticky Kids have come to visit me
We’ll feed the hens and milk the cows, and then we’ll have some tea”
The kids all smiled and listened hard to all the farmyard noises
Bahs and moos and growls and quacks, they loved the creatures’ voices

A tractor spluttered into life and zoomed out of the shed
It was Mrs. Mac who shouted out “It’s time those pigs were fed
Hop on board, you Sticky Kids, there’s room inside the trailer”
They passed a combine harvester, a hopper and a bailer

The engine roared and down they went, down into the valley
They found the pigs in a muddy field, the biggest one was Sally
She had six piglets by her, their names were Oink and Bess
And Bouncy and Lucinda and Candy Floss and Jess
Bouncy rushed at Fergus and chased him with his snout
Fergus fell into the mud, but Old Mac pulled him out
“You’ve had a fright, young lad” he said, “you’d better ride with me”
So Fergus climbed up in the cab - he was a sight to see

The pigs were fed, the gate was shut to keep them safe from harm
The Sticky Kids were singing as they drove back to the farm
In the farmyard all was well and there was lots to do
Nicky fed the chickens, she counted twenty-two
Vicky liked the old horse best, she fed it clumps of hay
It bowed its head and tapped its foot and gave a friendly neigh
Ricky liked the furry cats who lived up in the barn
They made their beds in piles of straw and slept there snug and warm

The kids ran round through all the sheds to see what they could see
Then they went into the kitchen and had eggs and cake for tea.
